AEW has a hardcore fanbase that are extremely dedicated to the company and that is one of the reasons that AEW has been so successful out of the gate. Tony Khan does a fantastic job of giving things that fans want to see, from dream matches to signing brilliant free talents, he is constantly trying to please those who support his company.

However, there will be some harsh realities that many AEW fans need to understand because it is not always possible for things to be perfect. Wrestling goes through ups and downs and there are certain things that AEW fans will need to accept, even if they're not positive.
10 The Women's Division Isn't Perfect
Thankfully, women's wrestling is now in a place where it has to be taken seriously in every major company and that includes AEW. It's something that fans want to see and while Tony Khan has put together a great division he hasn't been able to utilize it properly yet.
The women tend to be restricted to just one segment/match on every episode of AEW Dynamite and that is halting any real growth. It's a situation that does still need to be worked on, but it is an issue that needs to be worked on and something fans have to accept.
9 Top Stars Will Join WWE
AEW has managed to bring a lot of people into the company from WWE with some huge signings like Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley helping to take them to new heights. However, a harsh reality some fans will have to come to grips with is the fact that some big stars will go in the opposite direction.

It is inevitable that people won't be happy in AEW or will simply want a new challenge, and WWE will end up providing that for many in the future. The likes of Cody Rhodes and Blair Davenport have already made the move and they won't be the last.
8 Not Every PPV Will Be Great
So far, AEW has been incredibly consistent in creating fantastic PPVs that fans will always remember. It's been a real strength for the company, but the 2023 Double Or Nothing event saw a slight change in that regard as it did lead to a lot of fans not being as happy online afterward.
It's a good example that not every single PPV is going to knock it out of the park, and sometimes there is going to be a disappointment. These events are built up even more with AEW having less, but ultimately some are going to fall short of the mark.
7 Not Everyone Will Get Along
A harsh reality that fans have had to learn about with the roster itself is the fact that not every single person is going to get along. At the start, it was all roses when it came to the AEW talent as people sang the praises of the company and how much fun it was to work in that environment.
However, even though AEW might offer some more freedom than its competition, it doesn't guarantee people will get along. The wrestling business is a competitive one and that is going to lead to fallouts as has already been made clear, and that will continue again.
6 Sometimes Scripts Can Be Helpful
WWE is often heavily criticized for scripting talent too much, and while there's no doubt that sometimes the talent is overly scripted it can be helpful. This is especially true for younger wrestlers who are making their names and learning how to operate in front of a live crowd of that size and for a television audience.
AEW fans will need to accept that some scripting would be beneficial even if it's just certain bullet points to ensure that the roster have a clearer focus when they're talking.
5 Lots Of Shows Don't Equal Success
There has been a lot of excitement about AEW launching a new Saturday show, just as there was when Tony Khan purchased Ring Of Honor, but it has been clear that having tons of shows doesn't necessarily lead to success. There's a chance they might all work out perfectly, but that's not always how things go.

That was shown by the fact that the ratings for AEW Rampage have struggled massively, and it is clear that having extra content doesn't always draw fans in from the start.
4 Not Every Ex-WWE Guy Works
Tony Khan has brought in a lot of ex-WWE Superstars as soon as they have become available, which did lead to a lot of TNA comparisons. That isn't always a good thing though because while many of the signings have been brilliant, some just haven't worked.
AEW fans can often get excited about landing these wrestlers because it is seen as a big deal to sign them. However, with several of the signings such as Andrade El Idolo falling flat, it has become clear that it isn't always a good thing.
3 Not Everyone Will Be Featured
AEW has a loaded roster and that includes a fantastic variety of wrestlers, and it is something that many AEW fans like to brag about. The company has great workers, but the problem is that Tony Khan has arguably signed too many people.
This is clear with some fantastic wrestlers that don't get any television time with people such as Eddie Kingston not being shown as much. It's a problem that fans have to deal with, even if it could be seen as a positive headache for Khan overall.
2 Storylines Can Take Too Long
AEW places a lot of focus on the in-ring aspect of the business, and that is something that has drawn a lot of excitement. However, something that has become a problem is how long many of the storylines take to happen with Tony Khan's love of long-term stories often being frustrating.

It's a harsh reality fans have to expect in the fact that many of the angles often go on for longer than anybody wants. It leads to fans becoming bored and things not getting resolved quickly enough.
1 WWE Is Always Going To Be Bigger
AEW has provided fantastic competition to WWE which has helped elevate the entire wrestling industry, and there's no doubt that the company is huge. However, while AEW is pushing to be the number-one company in professional wrestling, the fact is that it is extremely unlikely to ever happen.
WWE is always going to be seen as the bigger company simply due to the fact it has been around much longer. WWE is a global name and it is set in stone to have major attendances and great television opportunities which makes it almost impossible to knock off the top spot.
