What comes to mind first when you think about great wrestling-themed episodes? It is probably shows like South Park, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Boy Meets World, and That 70s Show. There's no denying, those are amazing episodes, but there's got to be something else out there right?

So if you're done re-watching Butters ruin everything with his lousy wrestling technique or The Rock pay homage to his father in Wisconsin and are ready for a deep dive to get your wrestling fix, here are ten classic TV shows you forgot had wrestling-themed episodes.

10 Futurama - Raging Bender

It makes sense out of all the Futurama characters Bender would be the one entering the ring. Through pure dumb luck, our beloved alcoholic robot is able to beat his opponents becoming increasingly more popular, letting his newfound fame go to his head.

But what makes this a great episode is not only the robot fighting but how it showcases the inner workings of professional robot wrestling. Bender is told to take a dive or be taken out by a giant robot because of his waning popularity. Could this be art imitating life?

9 How I Met Your Mother - Robots Vs. Wrestlers

Forget robot on robot violence, how about some wrestlers versus robots! What becomes a tradition for the HIMYM gang, also just happens to be where Ted's doppelganger works. That's right, Mexican Wrestler Ted is discovered to be a wrestling superstar who literally throws himself into his work.

The Medieval Times audience set up just makes the viewer wish this type of sporting event was the real deal. Sadly we will just have to watch this episode on repeat to bask in the glory that is robots versus wrestlers.

8 The Beverly Hillbillies - The Great Tag-Team Match

As the promos for WrestleMania 36 inform us that it is quote "too big for one night," so too is this episode of The Beverly Hillbillies. It's Granny showcasing her hidden talent for wrestling, believing a televised match is the real deal and stepping in to defend the honor of a fellow southerner.

But when the wrestling commissioner sees her mad wrestling skills he wants more than she is willing to give. Sound familiar? Watch the first part for the monkey butler, stick around for an octogenarian taking on a whole family of wrestlers.

7 Full House - Michelle Rides Again Part 1

Unfortunately, this episode does not feature Michelle Tanner getting into the wrestling ring and taking on Stephanie in the ultimate sister showdown (how rude). The wrestling storyline isn't the main one in the second to last episode of the TGIF staple.

Uncle Jesse and Joey are offered an audition for a television show where they would get to try out unusual jobs. The audition features what else, professional wrestling and the two best friends try their best to practice before the real thing. What the episode needs is Joey using Booker T's classic scissor kick on Uncle Jesse, with the last line being "I told you to cut. It. Out." Missed opportunity.

6 The Bernie Mac Show - Wrestling With A Sticky Situation

This episode has it all. High school wrestling, a Steve Austin cameo and a coming of age tale of a teenage boy. Just don't ask Stone Cold to comment on that last part. He thought he was only there to talk wrestling and beer chugging. He books it pretty much as soon as the topic gets a little too Degrassi Junior High.

When Bernie Mac's nephew Jordan gets recruited for the school wrestling team, he goes undefeated, making his uncle super proud. But what he doesn't realize is that the reason he is undefeated is that there aren't any kids in his weight class. Unfortunately, Jordan doesn't learn any moves from Stone Cold, until the end.

5 Night Court - Battling Bailiff

It's what everybody wishes would happen to them. A wrestling promoter discovers you while doing your job, and next thing you know you're wrestling in front of 20,000 people. All you got to do is lift Lou Ferrigno who just happens to guest star in this episode.

Bailiff Bull switches his old uniform for a new one, complete with cape, and ends up leaving the ring before the fight even gets started. The episode pokes fun at kayfabe, just don't let the wrestlers know you're in on the secret.

4 Mama's Family - Mama Mania

You better believe Mama has some zingers up her house dress about women's wrestling. The jokes continue when Mama ends up in the ring with Naomi dressed as bumblebees when the original tag team is injured. Mama floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee against her opponents and this old lady is taking no prisoners.

You end up feeling sorry for the ladies as they take a beating from Mama. It's not unlike watching anyone up against Brock Lesnar, they just don't stand a chance.

3 Family Matters - Psycho Twins

Steve Urkel and Carl Winslow Family Matters

It's another case of a tag team having to step out due to injury, and a pair of sitcom stars coming to their rescue. Of course, it's Steve Urkel who causes problems for the tag team in question, The Psycho Twins when he leaves a bottle of snooze juice out for the wrestlers to drink by accident. So it's up to Carl and our favorite nerd to step in and take on WWE superstars The Bushwackers.

You better believe the pair wishes they had just faced the consequences of Urkel's mistake instead of going head to head against professional wrestlers. Only one thing missing from this episode, the classic 'Did I do that'.

2 Laverne And Shirley - Tag Team Wrestling

There's definitely a theme happening in these classic episodes. With Shirley running a charity wrestling match for the orphanage, she ends up getting in the ring with Laverne when her tag team partner is injured. What is supposed to be an exhibition match quickly turns into some serious wrestling because of Laverne's big mouth.

Will the Milwaukee duo take down their opponents? Does anyone think of the orphans? It's a lot of running around and yelling for Shirley but Laverne isn't half bad. Penny Marshall would have made a fine wrestler.

1 The Simpsons - Gorgeous Grandpa

It's another one of those, how did no one know Abe Simpson was a former professional wrestler. Especially Mr. Burns who claims to be a huge fan of Abe's alter ego, Glamorous Godfrey. This is not the first time Mr. Burns has met Grandpa Simpson, sadly this article is not a deep dive into The Simpsons timeline inconsistencies, but how the show incorporated wrestling into its world.

Glamorous Godfrey is the Gorgeous George of Springfield and say what you will about newer Simpsons episodes, this one isn't half bad. It could be worse. It could be a Lisa episode.
