Many wrestling fans recall WWE's Attitude era as being the greatest part of professional wrestling's deep history. In a time where almost every wrestler on the roster was of a great caliber and given a compelling character and in-ring action which fans remember fondly, the Attitude era was chock-full of high-octane moments. It was during this time which fans famously got the Austin vs McMahon rivalry, the birth of D-Generation X, and a multitude of other great moments.

However, for every history-making moment during this era, there were also strange storytelling moments that have fans scratching their heads to this day. Storylines were often created with such zest during this period that writers seemingly forgot to finish them. Stories and events would begin, but would never find a resolution. Even twenty years after the Attitude era, some fans are still wondering exactly how some of these stories had planned to be resolved.
10 King Of The Ring Briefcase
The main event of King of the Ring 2000 featured a ladder match between Steve Austin against Vince and Shane McMahon, with the control of WWE literally hanging in the balance. Fans were rooting for Austin to capture the briefcase, but it kept mysteriously being pulled away from his grasp anytime he would reach for it.
While it could have been revealed as any of McMahon's cronies who were screwing Austin out of winning the match, it was never revealed exactly who was responsible.
9 Raven's Seven Deadly Sins
ECW fans know exactly how talented Raven is, and we were hoping that he would reach a similar level of success in WWE. Unfortunately, he was relegated to the Hardcore division like most other ECW alumni. However, there was a glimmer of hope during his last year with the company where he toiled with an angle related to the seven deadly sins.

While the angle did make a brief appearance on Sunday Night Heat, it was quickly canned, and Raven was reassigned to his previous lower card role before being released. In fact, Raven cites the cancellation of this angle as the moment he knew his WWE career would not pan out.
8 GTV
In a series of skits videos that caught wrestlers in precarious situations backstage, GTV was a thorn in the side of many wrestlers for months in 1999. The culprit behind these videos was never found, but many fans believe that the "G" stood for "Goldust," who was not seen on television at the time. These days, the recent Smackdown Hacker storyline seems very similar to GTV, particularly because neither of them received a resolution.
7 Just Joe
Just Joe was certainly a small footnote in WWE history, but some Attitude Era fans are still wondering who put him up to his hijinks. Joe was an unknown wrestler who would journey backstage and try to stir the pot between different wrestlers by spreading rumors and gossip, played by independent wrestling star Joe E Legend. The story would only last a few weeks before it was dropped, but no one ever knew who was sending Joe with these messages.
6 The Two Man Power Trip
Just like when Sasha Banks and Bayley were able to hold all the gold in 2020, The Two Man Power Trip of Steve Austin and Triple H accomplished the feat in 2001. When two of the biggest WWE stars were able to hold the WWE, Intercontinental, and Tag Team Championships together, but were slowly losing their titles, it was poised to finish with a big match between the two.

However, it was abruptly called off when Triple H tore his quadriceps muscle and was off television for the rest of the year. This surely would have been another big feud for these two superstars, which was unfortunately missed.
5 Raven's Ninja Woman
Tori had a very short stint in WWE and, unfortunately, accomplished very little despite fans enjoying her on television. Her strangest stint was in the form of the "Black Ninja Woman" who came to the aid of Raven multiple times in 2001. Tori was eventually unmasked as the Ninja and ran away after the reveal never to be seen again. There was plenty of build-up for the reveal, but no payoff after the fact, which left fans very confused when Tori was released only weeks later.
4 Someone Still Remembers
Booker T's wrestling career was not short of tremendous accolades in both WWE and WCW, but there is one glaring storyline that still has fans scratching their heads. In a backstage segment towards the end of the Attitude era, someone left Booker a note in his locker room which stated: "I Still Remember." However, it was never followed up on or revealed who left him the menacing note.

3 The Blonde Bitch Project
The Blue Meanie certainly did not have a legendary career in WWE, and many fans do not remember him. However, if fans were to dive deep into the history of the Attitude Era, they would find a very short segment dedicated to the "Blonde Bitch Project."
Meant to be a parody of both the "Blair Witch Project" film and a dig at former WWE wrestler Sable, Meanie used his comedic skills to try and gain a following. Unfortunately, it fell flat after one segment, and Meanie returned to ECW shortly after.
2 Who Trashed The Nation's Dressing Room?
The Nation of Domination was a wrestling stable ahead of their time, with four talented black wrestlers shining a light on the systemic racism in WWE. With rumors of another version of the faction being discussed in 2020, it brings up a mystery in the Nation's story that was never solved.
In 1997, the Nation's locker room was trashed and graffitied with slanderous sayings, but the culprit was never found. The group was portrayed as bad guys, but this story would have certainly given them a lot of sympathy from the audience if it had been followed up on.
1 Gave Birth To A Hand
Mae Young experienced a career resurgence in her seventies when she began appearing as a comedic character in WWE in the '90s. As an old woman with no inhibitions, she would strip down at every opportunity and tried to make fans laugh.
However, there were few laughing when she "gave birth" on live television to Mark Henry's child, which wound up being no more than a rubber hand. As strange as the angle was, it was even stranger after it was never given an explanation or discussed again in the Attitude era.
